Computers are a given in the world we live in today, but when true booklover’s look back on the literary ‘gems’ that this world has offered, they can tell you that over 85% of the best titles ever written were published far before our ‘superhighway’ was created. They can always name the books that never saw the light of day in the social marketing and social media worlds; they simply became the ‘best of the best’ because they WERE the best of the best. The authors, the stories – something about them made the entire world stand up and listen. Publishers, quite simply, published them. They weren’t worried about the Amazon Kindle taking over, or the fact that bookstores were going out of business. They weren’t worried about their ‘bottom lines’ as of yet, they were simply in desperate need to publish the books that all the world would remember. And, once upon a time, that’s just what they did.

In 1946, Robert Penn Warren gave the world All the King’s Men. This was far more than just a political novel, it was an in-depth look at the power and corruption in the Depression-era South. Every tumultuous and highly-debatable subject was taken on by Mr. Penn is this unforgettable novel, and it changed the course of the literary world.

In 1946, a man by the name of George Orwell created, Animal Farm – and the world has never forgotten about it. No writer had been more brutally honest about his contempt for power, or more ruthless in his critique of those who abuse it. He took on hypocrisy at its finest, and by choosing to present his ideas and these atrocities in a ‘fairytale-like’ setting, George earned his place among the best fiction novelists of all time.

Whether you liked it or not…in 1936, Margaret Mitchell wrote the colossal romance novel. She brought romance to a new level while still offering a brilliant study into the very difficult subjects of race, war, politics, and the ability to stand up and fight for what you most believe in. Gone With the Wind was the first and most compelling saga in the world of books.

Science fiction was brought into our realm in the very best of ways when a master by the name of J.R.R. Tolkien introduced his, Lord of the Rings in 1954. This man showed the world that he had a mind-bending imagination that gave birth to a whole new world of elves, dwarves, wizards…you name it, they were there. With his intelligence and study of ancient languages and mythology – Tolkien make sure that science fiction would never die.

Ken Kesey unleashed One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest into homes in 1964, and took on hypocrisy at its finest. How to conform to modern life; how to deal with the icy power-hungry people in this world that the horrific Nurse Ratched personified – it was all there. His book took liberation to a whole new plateau.

And let’s not forget the REAL YA fiction that made a difference in this world. Judy Blume is, was, and will always be the master at explaining and helping the hearts and souls of youth. The experiences, pain and relentless pressure that they feel each and every day was always addressed and addressed immaculately by Judy Blume. Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret came out in 1970 and people could almost feel the sigh of relief. Why? Because with Blume, parents no longer had to be afraid to talk to their children about sex and religion – because this incredible author had opened the doors to both.

Ernest Hemingway, Virginia Woolf, Jane Austen…there simply isn’t enough paper to list them all. We, as a culture, are extremely lucky to have been given these unbelievably fantastic authors who have saved lives, changed minds, and helped readers from all walks of life understand, give, take, love, laugh, cry, and learn. However these authors, during their time periods, were not given million-dollar contracts. They were not constantly fighting for an agent or a publisher…and they didn’t care. Their names became huge over time and their “voice” gave other people theirs. That was what made writing wonderful!

The “dream” is incredible. But there are times when the literary industry looks very much like the sports world nowadays. Contracts are given out to books that simply aren’t going to be talked about in fifty years in an article such as this. And chances are no longer being taken because of the rough and hideous economy. Precious Gems Publishing wants to take that chance. Precious Gems Publishing has found a way to be unlike the self-publishers that are out there right now. The people behind the creation of this new digital-publishing company ARE authors, themselves They are people who have worked in the industry for a good, long time and, quite frankly, didn’t like what they were seeing.

Precious Gems Publishing knows about the money aspect – it’s not like they’re living in their own fairytale. But they have also done the research to be able to do a great number of things for a debut author where it WON’T cost that author $5,000. They won’t receive a substandard formatted book with a substandard cover, and then a contract that states in small print that they have to buy a certain number of there own books.

Precious Gems Publishing has teamed up with some truly reliable organizations that are masters in the digital media and marketing world. They have cut all costs to the bare minimum so that authors only have to pay $899 one time with no extra costs or ridiculous ‘small print’ contracts. And for that low investment, Precious Gems Publishing has been able to build the crew and creative technologies to give each one of their authors a ton of marketing services that will brand them and, perhaps, bring their name to the forefront of Top Ten lists across the globe.

Precious Gems Publishing’s crew are authors, editors, proofreaders, ghostwriters, designers, marketers, and promoters who came together because the author was being overlooked! They are not a traditional house who will never read your book, or put it in the ‘slush pile’ for a later date. They are honest, hardworking people who have had trials of their own with the publishing industry, and are tired of it.

PGP wants creation! They want imagination! They want fiction! And their sister site, Be Wisdom Publishing, wants nonfiction! They realize the benefits of having the ability to self publish, and the great importance of digital publishing. Their graphic designers KNOW how to make a cover that stops people in their tracks as they’re looking through thousands of books in the marketplace. And, one of the ultimate gifts their ‘gems’ receive, is a huge network of sites, online newsletters and magazines, radio and television stations, that offer YOU and YOUR book, marketing and promotion that just doesn’t exist with other companies.

Precious Gems Publishing has a “vision” for the authors they work with; and that vision is to get YOUR creation into readers’ hands and help build YOUR audience!

The editing team, creative/design team, publishing team, and marketing team that YOU acquire from using Precious Gems or Be Wisdom Publishing are monumental – and they are the smartest team to have on YOUR side.

As a writer, I am so tired of losing authors because they ended up so down on themselves (because of form letter rejections) that they stopped believing in their talent, and put their novels into a drawer. Enough! With the digital and social marketing world the way it is, and what it’s quickly becoming, those same agents and publishers who turned you down will soon be wishing they had paid more attention to what the readers actually want to read!

Precious Gems Publishing respects, honors, and supports authors. They not only want, but BELIEVE, that there is a novelist out there right now who is holding the next book that will make history. If you know that YOU are that writer, contact PGP right now!

Until Next Time, Everybody!
