PhoneGuard, Inc., a subsidiary of Options Media Group Holdings, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: OPMG) (OTCQB: OPMG), a leading provider of mobile applications, today announced the beginning of its revenue generation stage for the revolutionary Drive Safe™ and PhoneGuard product lines, beginning October 18th, when the Company will begin taking orders via its website for a new product targeted at teen cell and smartphone users. The company plans to make the formal announcement for this teen-oriented product and to announce the availability dates for its parent and enterprise-oriented products at the CTIA Enterprise and Applications tradeshow and exposition to be held in San Diego, California October 11th through October 13th.
The customized teen product will incorporate PhoneGuard’s Drive Safe™ application, which enables global positioning satellite (GPS) tracking to calculate the speed of travel while a vehicle is in motion. Once vehicle speed reaches 10 miles per hour, the Drive Safe™ application either locks the smartphone, preventing the user from emailing, surfing the web or texting while driving or reminds the driver of the dangers of distracted driving. A number of additional useful safety and security features will be built into this new teen-oriented product, including customized auto reply texts that will inform whoever is texting the driving teen that it is currently not safe to use the phone, but he or she will get back to the sender as soon as it is safe. Additionally, the panic/emergency button function will be included that will allow the user to simply hit one button on the handset in order to reach a pre-assigned emergency number. The panic/emergency button will also send a Google map link showing the exact location of where the phone was located when the button was pushed. The new product will be downloadable from the PhoneGuard.com website and those of selected distribution partners.
“We are happy to inform our investors and the industry that we will be moving into revenue production as of October 18th. We have timed the availability of this product to coincide with the release of several new videos featuring two-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Justin Bieber, with whom we have partnered in order to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving and to promote responsible cell and smartphone usage. From the CTIA exposition we also plan to provide additional information about the availability of our parent and enterprise-oriented products and to introduce our new branding strategy.”
PhoneGuard’s branding strategy will center on mobile empowerment with the new slogan, “It’s your Life. Drive It.®” A major priority within this branding strategy will be to support charities and foundations, such as the Remember Alex Brown Foundation, which support the responsible driving agenda. The Company’s product strategy will evolve around three separate and distinct product offerings targeted at teens, parents, and enterprise customers. The marketing strategy will emphasize PhoneGuard’s strong relationship with two-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Justin Bieber, in addition to probable strategic partnerships with other youth-oriented brands.
Available for Blackberry, Android and iPhone smart phones, PhoneGuard’s Drive Safe™ application enables global positioning satellite (GPS) tracking to calculate the speed of travel while a vehicle is in motion. Once vehicle speed reaches 10 miles per hour, the Drive Safe™ application either locks the smart phone, preventing the user from emailing, surfing the web or texting while driving or reminds the driver of the dangers of distracted driving. The products the company will make available for sale over the web and in various retail and enterprise oriented channels will additionally include a host of additional safety and convenience-oriented applications that will significantly enhance the user’s smart phone experience.
